Discover SourDoha HTX
Hi! My name is Chelsea Ezell and I make a lot of Sourdough bread. I am a wife and mom to 4 young kids and we live in the Houston Heights.
In 2020, our family was living in Doha, Qatar for my husband’s job. When Covid hit and lockdown followed I dove headfirst into all things sourdough to maintain my sanity. Within months I was running a micro-bakery out of my kitchen baking and delivering about 40 loaves a week. As lockdown ended I scaled back to about 20 reliable customers, which I maintained for a couple of years.
In 2022, my family repatriated to Houston as my husband was diagnosed with ALS https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mattezell. Life looks very different now for us, but sourdough remains a constant creative outlet. I bake sourdough goodies like bread, muffins, waffles and crackers weekly for my army of children and our village of friends/neighbors who help our family do life.
In the last year, I have taught several group lessons for school charity auctions, bible study groups, and friends. Attendees typically knew one or two people in the groups of eight to ten. The biggest takeaway has been how much fun and laughter each group has enjoyed, while learning the fundamental sourdough skills. Based on this overwhelming positive feedback and consistent demand (not to mention a few very pushy girlfriends) I am opening up my Sourdough 101 course and accompanying recipes to the public as a side hustle. I have refined the class and ongoing support model to what I believe is the perfect vehicle for learning and mastering sourdough baking.
Please check out my course description and FAQs. I can promise you will have a blast and leave ready to bake sourdough!
